Showed up at Ruthie's Sunday to spend the afternoon so Joanne could celebrate St.Pat's dinner and a family birthday with her kids. They started at Grandmas..making the dinner and lovely desserts and then gathered it all up and kissed grandma goodbye..leaving us grilled cheese for late lunch!!!! They did leave us a small chocolate cake with green mint frosting tho..so I guess that made up for it! Poor grandma got left out of the big family party. But what the heck she can't remember half those people anyway, and she had to wait at the cabin for John to come home from fishing. She asked me if my husband fished. I told her no he was a hunter..he liked to deer hunt. She told me her husband John was a hunter but he only hunted women and fish! She said he better get his fish soon before they are all gone! Because tomorrow when we have to leave it will be all sunny and we won't want to leave! But we have to because summer is almost over. Damn if she ain't right it gonna snow again by Tuesday! Again she asked when John was coming home and kept it up asking about him and complaining about him...thank goodness he's dead...Well maybe not this week..seems she thinks he's out on the lake fishing and she is stuck in this tiny cabin till he decides to come home if he doesn't go live with that woman from across the street! She kept asking me when we were going home and who was taking us there? "We are home Ruthie you live here!" "No" she insists she needs to go home and she asked if I had a car. I told her no I got dropped of today! then she asked if I knew any cab companies around here and how much would it cost? Told her I had no idea on both counts! I told her we would find out when she was going home when Joanne came back later that nite. That kept her quiet for a few minutes..But then she started up again..She wanted to call her house to see if John was there with his girlfriend taking all her stuff.. Again I had to remind her she has all her stuff in the (House) cabin. and that John is dead and I showed her his obit.
She still questioned the obit even tho she read it and it is in her hand in the pic!!!!! Said she gets all different stories from everyone! She doesn't know who to believe. She is right about that..cause we kind of tell her what she wants to hear at the time till it gets so annoying we just have to tell her ..JOHN is DEAD and this is your HOME!!!!!!!!!!! She says.."OH" and then cries a little and then forgets and starts all over again! And these are the "Days of our Lives"
